Remember when life was so easy...you knew what was coming next just couldn't answer the when. So now what? The shiny diamond is on my ring finger, my address includes the capital letters ND, I have two beautiful children (even got lucky to be blessed with one boy and one girl ). But there still seems to be this dot dot dot ...
To be honest, I think it's this time of year. I always seem to get this way around the holidays when I miss all my loved ones: Friends and my Family.
Whatever happened to asking for what you want for Christmas? Or birthday-so that you get what you actually want. All I want for Christmas are my two front teeth, okay maybe braces is more realistic...what? Save that for the kids you say, too late to be selfish? Well then-consider this-
It' s black Friday (technically Thursday night) I no longer work retail so what do I do in the wee hours of the morning? Attempt shopping for...NOTHING AT ALL! Funny thing is, I think it was more for mere family-in-law tradition that my mother in law, sister in law and myself went out to "view the madness." SERIOUSLY MADNESS!! We walked into Target and turned around to walk out-I did shop today...online! (with much success) and I don't feel guilty at all about it-other than for those poor souls poured into the retail corporate world. (makes me so glad I cut that cord two years ago, whew!)
Long story short-cherish what you have even if it's a spare moment to shop for nothing but a chance to strengthen a bond and enjoy the season with all it has-good and bad! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!
Everyday is different, yet happens for a reason.

RL or bust
I felt so Ralph Lauren again in this outfit-since I'm really talking him up at work these days, maybe I should give him a call...anyway LOVE these new boots I found-just wish you could see them in the pic a little better. I'm always up for good riding lesson just because I love to dress for it so if your in the area...let me know! and yes "riding" could mean tractor, race car, whatever good ol' ND has to offer!

More, more, I want more!
I think it's a good thing that I enjoy reading my own blog! Funny I know, but a good thing right? So...I think that means I need to write more often!
As a family we recently took some pictures and I had yet to post any online. I suppose it's about time I got around to it.

Easy Breezy
So I have settled for taking photos when I get home and have my wine poured, about to make dinner and hopefully squeeze in a photo op. I love that it didn't take long for the "kaftan" look to come back in. The fabrics are light, airy and beautiful! So here's my omage to Sex In the City or a trip to Morroco or you get the picture right?!
Oh and never hesitate to "tastefully" throw a little fish net into the equation!

J.Crew on a budget
The biggest compliment I could get from a friend..."you look like you stepped out of a J.Crew magazine." Considering that these days with two kiddos in the mix and husband well into football and hunting season-I find it hard to put as much effort into outfits. I just don't have time. So when we went over to our dear friends house last night for a birthday celebration, and had worked all day- so I just threw on something comfy and yet was complemented with a reference to J.Crew, of course I was ecstatic! Plus I FINALLY got my first pair of TOMS Yea!!

Stay Strong
Do you ever feel like your being pushed to be someone your not. Maybe dress a little different, keep to yourself, turn your head the other way...well you get the point. I'm so much of a people-pleaser I don't understand how who I am can bother others so much! I strive to do well at what I do, work hard, fill in wherever I'm needed-whenever I'm needed and yet there is always a gap-pfft!
I keep a stash of Dove Dark Chocolates in my desk and here's what mine said this morning "Open your eyes to all the love around you." Really-maybe I need glasses??

Catch me if you can...
Okay seriously, couldn't be more excited for Halloween. Before we had kids I struggled to enjoy the darn holiday. One- because it was my favorite grandmothers birthday (who is no longer with us) and two-I guess I never really understood what all the fuss was about? What are we celebrating exactly? Rotting our teeth? Staying up too late? The first snowfall? Okay, okay so now 4 years in and 2 kids later I'M JOINING IN ON THE "NO REASON AT ALL" FUN.
Finn of course wants to be a superhero of some sort, it tends to change with his mood but for now it's Spider-man (with a cape of course) and Emersyn and I are teaming up to be....are you ready for it....The Hamburgler and yup a Hamburger-WHAT?! You don't know what/who I'm talking about?? Let me remind you-
Yup that's right he really did exist just not sure who paid any attention to him because Ronald McDonald seemed to always steal the lime light-but don't worry I'll pay tribute this year, full force.
And that my friends is The Hamburgler!
You'll just have to wait for the big day to see the actual costume (I think)-no I'll let you in on the plan in case you want to join me-
