Outfit Round Up

Thank goodness it's time to slow down! Another Home Show under my belt and just in time for 14 inches of new snow with our Winter Storm happening as we speak!

 I start my Arbonne 30 day Get Fit Cleanse tomorrow and boy do I need you to wish me luck! I will elaborate more later but it's going to take a lot of strength and I hope I have it!

An Invitation?

This week is crazy busy with work! We are a part of a local Home Show every year and this year I was put in charge of it, Yikes! Here's a glimpse of our set-up yesterday which took from 8am until 4pm yeeesh! Between loading, unloading and delegating it was a looong day!

And we aren't quite done yet but at least the big stuff is done! So on another note I got an invite from one of my favorite people (my neighbor Sarah) but unfortunately I don't get to see her enough even though we live less than 50 feet apart! She's a big wig over at the University with the Alumni Assoc. and I'm pretty sure her regular routine often includes an event or two. So needless to say when she invites me to one, I better go! Even though it's the busiest week of the year for me, I only have this ONE busy week period, no busy season, no busy weeks, just this ONE week so I'm going to suck it up and go!

Now the hard part...what do I wear? Well I have an idea I guess but if you know me at all I like something new for any event and maybe that's why I don't go to many events. I can't afford to :)
So here's my start off outfit- I didn't have my camera at home so I asked Finn to take my picture with my ipad for me. Bless his heart this is what I got-

I'm wearing a dress tucked into my dark skinny jeans and then wearing my black booties and added a pop of color with my necklace. So my thought is that a dress tucked into skinny jeans may not be the right option-if I un-tuck it too much it looks sloppy but if I don't un-tuck it enough it gives the appearance of panty lines. So I might be on the hunt at lunch for something different...

Well believe it or not when I left work it was snowing. (Boo) So I stuck with my outfit but added a black blazer and changed into boots. It was fun but I think I have run myself a little thin and am now getting sick just in time for the busy weekend!

Time to retire?

HA! I wish...retire, travel the world, show my kids what warm weather looks like, zoos, beaches, oh wait not that kind of retire silly-retire as in donate, sell, give away! I've owned this shirt for a few years now and I think it might be time to retire it. Not sure why, I still like it but hardly ever wear it! What do ya think?

All Grown Up

Some how wearing this shirt makes me feel 'All Grown Up.' I think it's that considering where I live (upper, upper midwest) and taking into account the shopping options I have, there aren't many risk takers in this town. No I take that back, not risk takers but fashionistas! What I mean by that is a risk taker in town might be the handful of people who are wearing their ski-doo jackets all winter long!
Not sure what ski-doo is, well let me enlighten you-

So...back on track, this print just makes me feel like I should be living somewhere big city where I might blend in and not stick out like a sore thumb.  Either way it's one of my favorites and also gave me the chance to wear my new jewels that came yesterday! What do ya think?

My everyday

This outfit is one of the only ones I tend to repeat the most. It's my "go-to" if you will. I was having a rough am with not enough time to workout, shower, get ready, kids were screaming and in the back of my mind I knew I have my monthly IV appointment today. (which most days I look forward to- I mean all I have to do id lay there for 2 hours while I get fed my meds through an IV how relaxing is that?, no kids screaming, no phone ringing, I can watch whatever I want on tv) Well I just feel like I have TOO MUCH to do today! I wanted to pick up a prescription, grocery shop for dinner (which is usually a daily ritual unfortunately) and stop at the post office! Anyway, not going to happen today and since I was already stressed this am I just threw on an outfit I know works. But I'm starting to have this thought that I should hide this shirt so that it's rotation is spread out just like all the others in my closet. I wouldn't want other pieces getting jealous now would I? Do you have a "go-to" outfit? One that you find yourself repeating more than others?

Choose your inspiration

Inspiration comes in many shapes, sizes and COLORS. This is one instance where I am going to embrace the 30 degree weather and layer on top but I'm breaking out the open toe shoes! They have been staring at me with lonely eyes from my closet for months and although we still have piles of snirt, the snow on the streets/parking lots/sidewalks is gone :) so out they come for their first ride of the season! I guess I might need to think about a pedicure soon too!
